What's our
combo attack? 🤝

Two birthdays give two saju special moves. The relationship between their roots — your two day branches — decides your combo attack: a named combo if they're in harmony, a linked attack if they share a triad or a season, a rival recoil if they sit opposite each other. Enter both birthdays for an instant result, or send an invite link if you don't know your friend's.

Don't know your friend's birthday?

Enter only your own and send the invite link. When your friend opens it and adds their birthday, your combo appears.

Use solar (Gregorian) birthdays. Birth dates and names never leave your browser — everything is computed there. Result and invite links only carry special-move result values.

This test runs both birth dates through a manse-ryeok (Korean almanac) engine to find each person's special move, then decides your combo from the relationship between the moves' roots: your two day branches. Branches in harmony unlock a named combo attack, branches that share a triad or a season unlock a linked attack, and branches in clash make a rival recoil. Combo power is simply your two power levels added together.

How your two day branches pick the combo

Each special move comes from one of the twelve day branches. Saju reading has fixed relationships between the twelve branches, so putting two people's day branches side by side always lands on exactly one of them. The test checks them in this order and uses the first that fits.

1. Same branch — the same special move twice makes a twin attack that stacks.
2. Six Harmonies (yukhap) — Ja–Chuk, In–Hae, Myo–Sul, Jin–Yu, Sa–Sin, O–Mi. Six pairs that pull together, each with its own named combo attack.
3. Triads (samhap) — Sin–Ja–Jin (Water), Hae–Myo–Mi (Wood), In–O–Sul (Fire), Sa–Yu–Chuk (Metal). Three branches that together form one element's alliance; two of you filling two seats makes a triad link.
4. Season clusters (banghap) — In–Myo–Jin (east, spring), Sa–O–Mi (south, summer), Sin–Yu–Sul (west, autumn), Hae–Ja–Chuk (north, winter). Two seats filled make a season formation.
5. Six Clashes (yukchung) — Ja–O, Chuk–Mi, In–Sin, Myo–Yu, Jin–Sul, Sa–Hae. Exact opposites on the wheel, which makes a rival recoil.
6. Everything else — if one branch's element gives birth to the other's it's a support link, if one keeps the other in check it's a training link, and two Earth branches make a same-grain link.

Ja–Chuk and O–Mi are both harmonies and season clusters, so the harmony wins. The six harmonies, four triads and four season clusters carry named attacks (14 in all), and a twin attack puts "Twin" in front of the move's name. Every other pair gets a combo name spliced from pieces of the two move names (one piece is reworded so the result still sounds like a move), with the generating or controlling side going first.

Because day branches cycle every twelve days, the odds for any two people are fixed: same branch 8%, harmony 8%, triad 17%, season cluster 14%, clash 8%, generating 21%, controlling 18%, same element 6%.

How combo power is measured

Each person's power level is measured exactly as in the Special Move Test: the weighted share of energy backing the day master, as a percentile against 251,667 cases from 1960 to 2012, running from 2 to 99. Combo power adds the two together, so it runs from 4 to 198.

The "top N% of all pairs" badge shows where your total falls if you pick any two people from those 251,667 cases and add their power levels. Combo power is a playful gauge of how hard the attack hits — not a score for how well you two get along.

Stem harmony bonus and element pairing

The test also looks at your two day masters (the heavenly stems of your birth days). The stems have five harmony pairs — Gap–Gi, Eul–Gyeong, Byeong–Sin, Jeong–Im and Mu–Gye — and if your two day masters form one, your result gets a stem harmony bonus. A day master's element is also its move's element, so one line tells you whether your two elements feed each other, keep each other in check, or match.

Your birthdays and names go nowhere

Both birth dates and both names are computed inside your browser only and are never sent anywhere. A result link carries one packed number per person — day branch, day master and power level — and never the birth date, birth time or name; none of them can be worked out from it. Names only appear on the result card image.

You don't have to type in a friend's birthday. Enter your own, copy your invite link and send it; the moment your friend opens it and adds their own birthday, your combo appears. The invite link only carries your special-move result values.

FAQ

Can I do this without knowing my friend's birthday?

Yes. Enter your own birthday, tap "Copy my invite link" and send it. When your friend opens the link and adds their birthday, your combo appears. The "Send a combo invite" button on a Special Move Test result makes the same link. If you do know their birthday, the "Add a friend's birthday" button on that result keeps your move and asks only for theirs.

Do result links contain birthdays or names?

No. Result and invite links only carry special-move result values (day branch, day master and power level). Birth dates, birth times and names aren't in them and can't be worked out from them.

Does the order of the two people change the result?

No. The combo name and combo power come out the same whoever goes first.

Does a clash mean we don't get along?

No. Harmonies and clashes here are just the rules of a special-move game; the test doesn't judge real relationships or compatibility. A clash is read as rivals who both get stronger the harder they go head to head.

Can three people play?

If you land a triad or a season cluster, the result names the special move that would fill the last seat. If a friend has that move, the three of you complete the attack — just run the test again with them.

Can I enter my lunar birthday?

No — the input is solar (Gregorian). If you only know your lunar birthday, convert it to the solar date first.

How much should you trust this?

This test is entertainment. The almanac and the harmonies, triads, season clusters, clashes and stem harmonies follow the standard saju rules, but turning those relationships into combo attacks — and every name — is this page's own invention. It doesn't tell you whether the two of you are compatible or what will happen between you.
