STORY

Where unfinished
things end up

The Recycle Bin is full of deleted work: T-pose_test.fbx, which never got its animation; Untitled (1).rbxm, which never even got a name; and a 3D magpie that was reworked all the way to magpie_cute_final_REALLYfinal(3) before it was thrown away anyway.

The magpie still doesn't know why it was deleted. It comes when it hears a sound, and it creeps closer whenever you look away.

HOW TO SURVIVE

How to get out of the bin

  1. F

    Turn on your flashlight

    It is almost pitch-black inside the bin. The battery drains while the light is on and recharges when it is off. Switch it off and stay in the dark, and they will have a hard time spotting you.

  2. Find the white cursor

    You need the cursor to restore anything, or to delete it forever. There is only one per round, and it is wherever the clicking sound is coming from.

  3. E

    Restore your file

    Somewhere in the bin is a file with your name on it. Restore it and the ‘Original Location’ door at the north end opens.

  4. Escape to Original Location

    Items stay in the bin for 30 days, which is 15 minutes in real time. When the time is up, everything in the bin is deleted for good.

Shift Sprint. Run for too long and you will be out of breath.

Hidden files Step into a hidden-files area and the chasers cannot see you for 20 seconds.

R Delete one of the junk files lying around and a click echoes far away, drawing them toward it. Use it as a decoy.

Caught Your file gets corrupted. A teammate can restore it to bring you back, and in solo play a backup brings you back once.

Why was the magpie
thrown away?

Notes, photos and concept files are scattered all over the bin. Open them one by one and the story of the day the magpie was deleted starts to come together.

Tucked into a corner of a hidden-files area is a translucent magpie-speak_translator.exe. Pick it up and you will see subtitles for what the magpie says as it chases you.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, it is free to play. The in-game shop sells backup restores, a clue finder, a flashlight color pack and a bigger battery for Robux, but you can see all five endings without buying anything.

Can I play solo?

Choose solo play to start on a private server with just you. There is no teammate to revive you, but if you get caught, a backup brings you back once.

How many people can play together?

Choose co-op to play with up to 4 people on one server. There is only one white cursor per round, so you will have to decide who carries it.

How long is a round?

The bin's 30-day retention period lasts 15 minutes in real time. If you are not out by then, everything in the bin is deleted for good.

What devices can I play on?

Any PC, phone or tablet that runs Roblox.

How scary is it?

There is no blood or gore. Instead there are dark spaces, chasers that show up without warning and a jump scare when you get caught.

What language is the game in?

The game was made in Korean and also supports English and Japanese on Roblox. It follows your Roblox language setting: Japanese shows Japanese, and any language other than Korean or Japanese shows English. Korean scrawls on the walls get a small translated caption underneath. On-screen text in the trailer and in the screenshots on this page is in Korean.
