Draw a signature directly onto a PDF contract, or place a stamp photo and typed text, then save — no printer involved. Your file never leaves your browser, so even sensitive contracts stay private. The document's original text stays intact; the signature simply sits on top.

How to use

Open a PDF and its first page appears on screen. Press Draw signature, sign, and press Add — the signature lands in the middle of the page, and from there you drag it into position. Drag the circle at its bottom right to resize (the aspect ratio is preserved) and use the red button at the top left to remove it. For multi-page documents, move between pages with the pager below and place items on each page separately.

If you need the same mark on every page — initialing each page of a contract, say — place one item where you want it and press Copy selection to every page. It's duplicated at the same position and size on every page.

When you're done, press Save signed PDF. The original document's text remains live with the signature layered on top, so the other party can still copy and search the document's content after you save. Nothing gets flattened into an image.

Three ways to make a signature

Draw it

The simplest. Laptop trackpads make for awkward signatures, so if you can, open this page on a phone or tablet and sign with a finger or stylus — it comes out far more natural. Margins around the drawing are trimmed automatically, so it doesn't matter where on the canvas you sign.

Upload a photo of a stamp or signature

Stamp or sign a piece of white paper, photograph it in good light, and add the photo. The white background is removed so it sits on the document without a telltale rectangle. If a shadow left the background grayish, move Removal strength to the right; if the lighter parts of the stamp disappeared too, move it left.

Type it

For name fields, date fields and anywhere handwriting isn't needed. You can match the color and size to the document.

Why "no upload" matters here

This tool sends your file nowhere. Reading the PDF, merging in the signature and producing the new file all happen inside your browser — it works exactly the same with your internet connection switched off.

Contracts almost always contain things you'd hate to leak: names, addresses, ID numbers, bank details, transaction amounts. Yet most free PDF-signing sites work by uploading your file to their servers, processing it there and sending it back — and you have no way of knowing how long the file lingers or where. For work documents that's often a compliance problem too. When everything ends in the browser, that entire worry disappears.

Troubleshooting

The file won't open

Password-protected PDFs can't be opened. If the file asks for a password — bank statements and payslips often do — open it in a viewer first and use Print → Save as PDF to make an unprotected copy, then add that.

The signature comes in too large or too small

It's inserted at about a quarter of the page width. Drag the circle at the bottom right to adjust. The aspect ratio is kept automatically, so the signature never gets squashed.

Placement is off on a landscape page

Landscape and rotated pages are handled so the saved file matches exactly what you see on screen. If something still ends up misplaced, please let us know.

Is a signature like this legally binding?

Electronic signatures are widely recognized in many jurisdictions, and image-based signatures like these are common in everyday practice. But the rules differ by country and by document type — some documents, such as real-estate deeds or wills, may require wet ink, witnesses or notarization, and proving who actually signed is a separate question if a dispute arises. Check your jurisdiction's rules for legally binding signatures, agree on the signing method with the other party for important contracts, and consult a professional when it matters. This is general information, not legal advice.
